Reservations for the Covered Bridge Park

Covered Bridge Park: Northwest of the Pennsylvanian city of Allentown, in South Whitehall Township, along Wehr Mill Road, is where you’ll find Covered Bridge Park. Jordan Creek is crossed by two old covered bridges, in which the park is located. Numerous baseball diamonds, soccer fields, handball courts, a disc golf course and a volleyball court can be found in the park.

Covered Bridge Park Information

With cottages, cabins, tent sites, and trailer sites, Covered Bridge Park (covered bridge park MAP) is a gorgeous 150-acre waterfront campsite on the Bonnechere River. We are in Tramore, on the north bank of the Bonnechere River, between Round Lake and Golden Lake, east of Algonquin Provincial Park.

Enjoy the lovely summers in Ontario, where you may go swimming, canoeing, fishing, and nature-watching. Only 47 of our tiny caravan park sites have full hookups, giving you plenty of solitude. The 100 acres of mature woodland, meadows, and paths on this historic farm, which has been kept in its original condition, are Nature’s Playground. Only a tiny area of the property has been turned into a campground. Most of the products we have here are straight from nature.

We have built a unique 20,000+ square-foot community playground at Covered Bridge Park as part of our mission to make South Whitehall the most distinctive and alluring area to live, work, and play in! This playground has rapidly established itself as a mainstay in the neighbourhood and has a special basket swing, picture panels, chances for balancing play, various slides, a play area for children ages 2 to 5, a play area for children ages 5 to 12, a zip line and more! Believe us when we say that this is a new focal point in the Township’s park system and not simply another playground!

Playground at the Covered Bridge Park

The park recently got a brand-new large playground. In the middle of the park, next to the Wehr covered bridge, is where the playground is situated. Parking is available on your right after passing under the covered bridge. Another parking space nearer the playground appears to be opening soon. On your left, there will be a parking lot entrance.

The playground is divided into two sections: one for toddlers and preschoolers, while the other, bigger, is for older kids. There is a modest play structure with slides on the toddler playground. In addition, there are logs to climb on, a frog, a butterfly, and a turtle.

The section for older kids is next to the playground for toddlers. Swings are next, followed by a sizable play structure. There are several slides in this building, and two significant bridges connect its two towers. There are benches all along the playground’s edge. Although this playground is not enclosed, it is located quite a distance from the parking area. The newly constructed parking lot beside the playground was under construction when we went to the park in June 2021. We crossed the street to a parking area and walked a short distance to the playground.

A pretty long zip line and a few spinning play structures are also part of the expansive playground. The playground’s kids loved the zip line immensely. A few youngsters would often queue to utilise it.

There is a large open area covered with grass in front of the playground. There are several picnic tables in this location close to the playground. Additionally, there are picnic tables beside the covered bridge along Jordan Creek if you’d like a more picturesque lunch location.

The reason for Covered Bridge Park

The justifications for covering such bridges are numerous. Some claim it was built as a storm shelter for travellers. The truss structure’s preservation and the fact that the local farmers’ teams of oxen regularly baulked at crossing the stream on an open bridge were the other two logical conclusions. According to an old belief, as the farmers crossed the covered bridge, their hay loads were levelled off.

Reservations for the Covered Bridge Park

Any group events must be scheduled in advance in the park. Pleasant Valley Nature Park is not far from Covered Bridge Park, giving it the perfect location for a variety of activities. Along with concrete walking trails, the park has stroller-friendly walkways. It appeared that there was a lavatory building under construction next to the playground. There are a few port-a-potties scattered throughout the park until it opens.
